On August 27, the 15th China–Northeast Asia Expo (hereinafter referred to as the “Northeast Asia Expo”) opened in Changchun, Jilin Province.

At the opening ceremony, Hu Chunhua, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), stated that since its inception 20 years ago, the Northeast Asia Expo has upheld the spirit of openness and inclusiveness, actively promoting regional trade and investment cooperation in Northeast Asia. It has become the largest and highest-level economic and trade cooperation platform in the region.

According to statistics, the cumulative trade turnover at the Expo has reached nearly 10 billion yuan, with 3,032 cooperation projects signed, totaling 2.053875 trillion yuan in investment. A series of major projects covering infrastructure, modern services, new energy, new materials, green food and agricultural product processing, automobile and auto parts manufacturing, cultural tourism, and biomedicine have settled in Jilin, making the Expo an important platform for promoting regional openness and cooperation.

This year’s Expo highlights Jilin’s “six major advantages” and the latest achievements in key cooperation projects across Northeast Asia and China. The total exhibition area covers 73,000 square meters, with 3,620 international-standard booths. Four themed exhibition halls have been set up—the Modern Industry Pavilion, the Open Cooperation Pavilion, the New Consumption & New Services Pavilion, and the International & Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Products Pavilion—alongside two featured areas: the Ginseng & Sika Deer Zone and the “Taste of Jilin” Culinary Culture Experience Zone, promoting trade through exhibitions.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong emphasized that this year’s Expo places greater focus on industrial project matchmaking and economic, trade, and cultural exchanges. Efforts will be made to build new platforms for industrial and supply chain cooperation, foster new growth drivers through emerging productive forces, expand trade and investment opportunities, promote consumption upgrading, and deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

During the event, 14 themed activities will be held, including Russia Business Day, China-Japan Economic and Trade Exchange & Hydrogen Industry Matchmaking, China (Jilin)-South Korea Economic and Trade Exchange, 2025 Northeast Asia Young Entrepreneurs Development & Cooperation Dialogue, and the Promotion and Signing Ceremony for the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo in Jilin.
